163) Filmshooting in USA and Thailand

The shooting for the Posttrail interviews in the USA and Thailand is about to start!

Today, October 24, we fly to the USA together with cameraman Notker Mahr and meet Jonathan Maidment aka Money Maker in Bolton/Connecticut. Jonathan Maidment suffers from Alpha-1-Antitrypsin Deficiency, a genetic, incurable disease. Despite this, he has managed to successfully complete the three major long-distance hiking trails in the USA, the Pacific Crest Trail, the Appalachian Trail and the Continental Devide Trail. That's about 8.100 miles! He can now call himself a Triplecrowner. On his hikes, Jonathan has raised a lot of money for research into the disease for the Alpha1 Foundation. We met him several times on the PCT. Now see where and how Jonathan lives and what the trail has done to him.

On October 29th we will go back to New York. From there we fly to Chiang Mai in Thailand, where Second Chance Hiker, a US-American whose real name is Cory McDonald, now lives. He started the Pacific Crest Trail weighing over 300 pound, with the goal of losing 150 pound ... "Hiking instead of eating yourself to death". Cory has started a new "chapter" in his life, married once again and is enjoying his life again.

We want to hear from both of them if and how the hike has changed their lives. We will post pictures of the shooting here soon.

On November 8, we'll go back to Germany. Then we will continue the editing phase and the film will take its final shape.

In the meantime, the first crowdfunding rewards, the postcards, have also been sent out. The PCT calendar will then follow around mid-November.

We are very excited about the shooting!
