Yesterday, SWOH made a couple of new friends doing the PCT, Jackie and Dominic, both of whom are among a group of military veterans being sponsored by the nonprofit organization Warrior Expeditions to hike the PCT. Warrier Expeditions’ founder Earl Shaffer's motto: walk off the war.

Founded in 1948 by WWII veteran Shaffer, Warrior Expeditions offers war veterans the chance to benefit from the healing effects of long-distance outdoor expeditions by providing them with the necessary equipment and a monthly stipend.
