Meanwhile, SWOH (I've decided for brevity’s sake to abbreviate Sabine and Oli's names) have survived their second day. Both troubled by a few back issues, they took it easy initially, taking time to enjoy the beautiful countryside. Inspired by numerous wonderful encounters, they’ve already brainstormed a great idea for a film. However, shlepping their heavy camera equipment puts a considerable damper on their pace, and with daily temps already hitting the mid-80s, Sabine’s concerned about hiking in the desert ... All in all, including 4 liters of water, each of them are lugging 44 lbs. Subject to 2 additional liters while they're in the desert. Yikes! I imagine they'll be tempted on occasion to toss their stuff down the next best cliff. End of film project. (Remember that scene in "Wild" where Reese Witherspoon tosses her useless, torn-up shoes into the abyss? You get the idea.)
Fortunately, at the end of the day, there's a Mexican beer waiting at Lake Morena campsite.
